Unlike vanilla drones they don't have a throttle and still use the legacy aircraft throttle system that helicopters still use.

Yeah I noticed this when using the MQ-9, it's really inconvenient when you're manually flying the drone. You have to hold the shift button down the whole time you're flying if you want to maintain full throttle; if you release it you quickly slow down and almost always stall.
Just did some research into this and it's happening because of this value,
attenuationEffectType = "OpenHeliAttenuation";
it needs to be set to this for the affected classnames:
attenuationEffectType = "PlaneAttenuation"
