ZU-23 Framerate Issues

Description

While testing the Hilux I noticed a severe framerate hit when firing while aiming down the sight on the ZU-23 versions. I compared the performance hit on the ZU-23 in other contexts and noticed some other less severe performance issues on others and only one with none. I also tested some other AA vehicles to use as a comparison. I did put a script on some of the vehicles so they had infinite ammo, and I tested with the script on and off and saw no difference in performance. My relevant specs are an I7-6700K@4.6GHz/16GB@3466Mhz/OC'd GTX 1080 running at 1440P, so the affect on framerate/system usage will vary depending on your system.

Hilux

  1. Third Person: No performance impact with mild-moderate GPU usage increase
  2. First Person: Very mild framerate hit with heavy GPU usage increase
  3. First Person ADS: Severe framerate impact with heavy GPU usage increase

Ural (CUP)

  1. Third Person: No performance impact and no GPU usage increase
  2. First Person: No performance impact with mild-moderate GPU usage increase
  3. First Person ADS: Moderate framerate hit with moderate GPU usage increase

ZSU-23 Turret (CUP)

  1. Third Person: No performance impact and no GPU usage increase
  2. First Person: No performance impact with mild-moderate GPU usage increase
  3. First Person ADS: Moderate framerate hit with moderate GPU usage increase

BMP-2 ZU-23 (CUP)

  1. Third Person: No performance impact and no GPU usage increase
  2. First Person: No performance impact with mild GPU usage increase
  3. First Person ADS: No performance impact with mild GPU usage increase

  2. First Person: No performance impact with moderate GPU usage increase
  3. First Person ADS: No performance impact with moderate GPU usage increase (slightly higher GPU usage than regular first person)

IFV-6a Cheetah (Vanilla)

  1. Third Person: No performance impact and no GPU usage increase
  2. First Person ADS: No performance impact with moderate GPU usage increase

Latest dev build puts Hilux ZU-23 performance on par with ZU-23 on Ural and turret. May be worth looking at increasing the performance on the other vehicles in the future, but not a pressing issue.
